Welcome Nafis Shaikh!

Lake Taupo Cricket Club are thrilled to announce our new signing- Nafis Shaikh of Derbyshire, England.

Nafis is a product of the Derbyshire Academy and has played multiple County 2nd XI matches. Nafis joins LTCC from Alvaston & Boulton CC who play in the ECB Premier Division of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.

A skilful batter and talented ball striker, Nafis is a proven match winner in ECB premier cricket and will add further depth to LTCC’s batting stocks. Shaikh offers an impressive record in his previous trip to Australia, whereby he averaged 55 for the season, including a century during his selection in the league representative side.

Nafis (19) will take on the role of overseas player-coach, which encompasses playing Premier grade cricket, coaching our senior group of players and coaching our junior pathway in Taupo. Alongside Taupo Cricket, LTCC, Archie and Nafis will help young boys and girls in the region enjoy and develop their game.

We are delighted to welcome Nafis to LTCC, we look forward to having him on board for the 2023/24 season!
